The City of Miami Board gave its approval to the mixed-use tower proposed to replace Brickell’s Burger King-anchored strip mall. The 78-story, 960-foot supertall will feature 392 condos, 66,618 sq. ft. of retail occupying four floors, 464 parking spaces and bicycle parking. Developed by the Karam Group, the LEED Silver building is being designed by Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates.

18 Brickell Condo
18 at 8th Street represents a flowering of design imagination as it soars 76 stories above the bustling streets of Brickell, the heart of Miami’s business district. This innovative structure literally blossoms from a glass-encrusted podium with a tower that grows outward as it rises. The concept is that it acts like a flower in a garden that spreads to capture sunlight. Practically, it means that residences will capture extraordinary light and views even though the development sits in a “garden” of nearby structures, including the Brickell City Centre.
At its base will be four levels of vibrant retail space covering 65,000 square feet. This innovative podium will be encircled by a ramp that will seem to slice the façade, decorated with vertical fins designed to capture the passage of the sun as well as give a distinct profile to the ground floors.
The architect for this signature building is Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates and is a project of Claro Development. The 392 condominium residences will feature luxury appointments and be served by a full range of amenities and services, including a pool deck atop the podium and a skyline pool.
Brickell has undergone a renaissance in recent years, becoming a destination for residential development as well as commercial and financial interests.
